Garofalo Rigatoni Wins Taste Test!

Garofalo Rigatoni has outperformed its closest competitors in a recent independent taste test carried out for the respected Italian blog
If you’re an Italian speaker you can find the review in its entirety here:, but for those of us who sadly don’t cope well with this wonderful language, here’s a brief summary of the key findings: The rigatoni of five pasta brands: Barilla, Voiello, Delverde, De Cecco and Garofalo were compared for their appearance, consistency, glutinosity, cooking times according to pack instructions, how well they fared following cooking, including their ‘al dente’ properties, their ability to absorb accompanying sauces and most importantly, their taste. Each pasta was scored out of a possible ten points and we are very proud to say that Garofalo achieved the highest score with an 8. The reviewer described the Garofalo Rigatoni’s taste as being ‘sweet and delicate’ and ‘definitely the best’ when it comes to consistency, accurate cooking instructions to reach the perfect ‘al dente’. She also said: “The pasta we buy at the supermarket is generally good, although differences among the brands do exist. In particular, Garofalo is very good even if served only with extra virgin olive oil.”

What the other’s scored:
Barilla 5.5
Voiello 6
Delverde 6.5
De Cecco 7

We’re always happy to hear good things about our pasta, and this is particularly good news! It also reflects much of the feedback we get from our customers both in Italy and increasingly, in the UK.
